Noel

After Thanksgiving the season of Joy begins. Decorations are out in full force. Lights glisten into the night. Gifts are wrapped in festive paper. Colors of red, green, gold, and silver are gleaming brightly. Oh how I love to see the winter gloom come alive in preparation of celebrating Christ’s birth. But, then, a somber feeling sets in. Staying Put

As of Monday, the Tichenor clan is staying put. You read that, Camp Tichenor, The Dr., Little Man, Little Lady, myself, and all our critters are NOT moving :) God has some wonderful plans and we're looking forward to Him leading us! Here's the long story: in January The Dr. was called for an interview at another school. Within a couple weeks he found he had received the job but no formal offer given. We continuously prayed through the entire process if this was God's will for our family. After a quick visit to the city for new homes, our hearts were heavy about transitioning our family. The Dr. especially wanted to make sure the three of us at home would enjoy life as he would be {probably} be working longer hours and investing in his new position. The lasts couple of weeks have included long conversations between the two of us, intentional prayer, and heavy consideration. Vernal Equinox.

Oh Mylanta, did last night’s sunset make. me. swoon. It was blues, pinks, oranges. Clouds swooped and swirled. They were splotchy and streaky. Perhaps because it was the last day/sunset of winter – holy guacamole we finally made it out of the tundra that was winter 2017. Never take me there again. Or perhaps because today, the first day of spring, speaks to my soul. By now you should know that if something speaks to me, you’ll be reading about it. Spring, like fall, somehow sings its nature song right to my heart. With the winter we’ve had and the early celebration of Easter, the two coming together so closely makes something swell up inside me. Goose bumps on my heart. It boggles my mind that our God that threw the planets into orbit and added the freckles to our faces, is also the God that touches the earth every year with new life.
